Close to the end

Coming close to the end of the project we we finally have pre-final flat art for each content group. My content group is hard choices and two days before the final, this is what we have. We soon realized the misconception and reality colors are switches and need to narrow down other things that could be better.

Combining ideas

Another group had the idea of making the walls out of cardboard boxes, each content area had to map out where the information would go in this way. The pictures go in order of process.

Photoshop mock ups for idea

We combined the misconception and realty flow with the red and blue graphics look and feel. We then mocked it up to show of it would look in a broad space.

Narrowing down important content

I am part of the hard choices group and so we narrowed down the content of what we really wanted in to our section of the exhibit. This can be even narrowed down further than this.

Information Architecture

I am part of the information architect group that decides how the information flows around the room and how much space each section takes up within the space. So originally we did a bird's eye view of how things would flow through the space. The first is a basic linear direction built around the room in the direction we thought made most the most sense. The second direction is more about a story where a person would get an envelope putting them in a position of poverty and how it affects people in Douglas county. The third direction is about misconceptions and realty and how we need to break stereotypes.

The space

The space that we were given for the exhibit has to fit our design and so pictures and measurements are important. Here are our original pictures of the space.

United Way Poverty Project

For this project we are making an exhibit to display the different parts of poverty and how those people are affected in poverty, specifically in Douglas County. My group got what are hard choices made by those in poverty and we researched further to see exactly what that looks like.
